- IsoBuster 2.3 final version released
Today we released IsoBuster 2.3 after a short beta run. This version further improves on finding Video on various DVD formats (DVD-VR, DVD+VR, DVD-VFR), so that you can extract the different recordings. Forensics investigators will also appreciate the ability to see when the different recording were made.

We released IsoBuster 2.3 in beta version today. All functionality intended for the final 2.3 release is included and tested. Let us know if we missed something. This version's improvements mainly cover Video recovery from various DVD formats (DVD-VR, DVD+VR, DVD-VFR), different recordings, time-stamps per recording etc.

Let's see if we came close to winning the Epsilon award. But that's not the main reason of course. Software conferences are a great way to reconnect with our colleagues and peers and learn about the new developments.

IsoBuster 2.2 was officially released today. Several new features and improvements were added. Command line parameter support and specialised tools for Business license (Professional) users, such as viewing extents, customizable file-system data etc.

For some time now all major players in the optical industry have been working on the successor of DVD. Indeed, a new disc type with more capacity, about 25 GB per layer as opposed to the 4.5 GB per layer for DVDs. Similarly as with DVD there are again two camps and unfortunately two competing disc formats.

French magazine "PCUPDATE" tested IsoBuster and compared it to its competitors. After the test IsoBuster was elected "Best CD and DVD Data recovery software" and it got the editor's choice award.

A new website was created, and released today. Not only is the "caped crusader" back, www.smart-projects.net now also features integrated help and a multi-language interface. Easily switch to Spanish or French or ... . Mind you, translations are still very much ongoing. A never ending job.

As of today an official beta version for IsoBuster 1.9.1 can be downloaded and reviewed. You'll find more integrated language support, a new logo, and a couple of new features and improvements.

We're proud to announce the release of IsoBuster 1.9.1. We had to make an important decision, stay with major version 1.9 or move to 2.0. You would think that with the new look (beit still a sober one) we would choose for 2.0, yet we haven't. The reason, and the early adopters will probably agree, is that we have always chosen technology over looks. We feel it makes a lot more sense to go to version 2.0 once BD and HD-DVD are fully integrated and supported optimally. Not the new look (icons, logo etc.), but the technology and being the best in what we do is important to us the most !

This version includes BD (Blue Ray) and HD DVD support, but recognition of these media types is still disabled. Check out the other goodies and give us some feedback if you take this version for a spin. If you have access to BD and/or HD DVD drives and discs, let us know.
