- Gov. Heineman Awards $144,000 Community Development Grant to Benkelman
((Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman has awarded the town of Benkelman a $144,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) to assist Valley Farm Industries, LLC, with an expansion of its current facility. The project is expected to nearly double the current staff of eight by creating seven new positions.

- Gov. Heineman Withdraws Nomination
(Lincoln, Neb.) Gov. Dave Heineman notified members of the Legislature today that he has withdrawn his nomination of Sam Jensen of Omaha to a seat on the Commission of Industrial Relations.
Gov. Heineman said, “My office has spoken with several members of the Legislature in recent days regarding this nomination. After visiting with Mr. Jensen, we determined that the best course of action was to withdraw the nomination.”

(Lincoln, NE) Gov. Dave Heineman announced plans today to host international guests from several countries this fall. Planned for Wednesday, Sept. 10 through Saturday, Sept. 13, the reverse trade mission will offer trade representatives and international business contacts the opportunity to see firsthand the benefits of doing business in Nebraska. The theme for the event is ‘Bringing the World to Nebraska.’
