  • BSB: MSS Discovery Kawasaki Make More Progress At Albacete Test
    MSS Discovery Kawasaki Racing completed their second test of 2007 as they race to be ready for the opening round of the Bennetts British Superbike series, which kicks off at Brands Hatch in less than a month. Testing was originally due to carry on at Valencia this week, but instead the team decided to return back to their Essex base and prepare the machines in time for the official BSB test that the team is duty-bound to attend at Snetterton this weekend.

  • TT: Superstock Rider Mackman Eagerly Looking Forward To Debut
    British Superstock Championship rider Ian Mackman is the latest in a long line of talented young riders signalling their intent to take part in the 2007 Isle of Man TT Races. The Oxford-born rider, now residing in Runcorn, made his mark in the MRO 400cc Championship finishing 7th overall in 2003 before going on to clinch the title a year later. He immediately made the move to the 1000cc machines finishing an excellent 6th in the ultra competitive British Superstock Cup Championship. In 2006, Ian progressed to the British Superstock Championship proper against the likes of John McGuinness, Ian Hutchinson and Les Shand getting quicker and quicker throughout the season and advancing his race craft even further.

  • MAG: Day Time Running Lights - Idea Dims
    Europe’s enthusiasm for imposing Daytime Running Lights (DRL) for all vehicles has dimmed somewhat, says the Motorcycle Action Group (MAG) the UK’s most active riders rights group. Following responses to a consultation from the European Commission on DRLs, the Head of the European Commission’s Road Safety Unit, Dr Stefan Tostmann, announced at a recent meeting with FEMA (Federation of European Motorcyclists Associations) representatives that the Commission would call for a 6 month deferral in the United Nations legislative process.

  • Suzuki GB: Opts For Youth In GSX-R Cup Assault
    Suzuki GB has announced its rider line-up for the 2007 GSX-R European Cup and, with two teenagers in the team, the company has signalled a clear intention to develop younger riders as part of its ongoing racing strategy. Alex Camier, 18, will be joined by 16-year-old Alex Gault in the three-rider SGB squad that will contest the six-round series in 2007. The team’s third GSX-R750 will be reserved as a wildcard for guest racing journalists.

  • World Enduro: Husqvarna's Oblucki Gets Third In First WEC GP
    CH Racing Husqvarna team rider Bartosz Oblucki claimed a well deserved third place podium finish on day one of the first round of the '07 World Enduro Championship aboard a pre-production version of Husqvarna's new 250cc four stroke enduro bike. In doing so the Pole proved the bike's reliability and competitiveness despite relatively little time spent testing and setting-up the all new machine prior to the race.

  • WSB: Steve Martin Left Without A Ride For Remainder Of Season
    Steve Martin was yesterday unexpectedly informed that his ride with the DFX Honda World Superbike team was no longer available, due to lack of finances for the Italian squad. Just days before being due to leave his home in Switzerland for the next round of the championship at Donington in the UK, the vastly experienced Aussie rider was clearly disappointed and bemused by the news, commenting, “I’m absolutely gutted. Not just for me but also my whole bike crew.

    Mondello Park's preparations for the 2007 visit of the Bennetts British Superbike Championship get underway this week with the commencement of ticket sales for the circuits headline event.   • British Supersport: Centurion Racing Signs 125 Champion Dan Cooper To Ride Alongside ‘Westy’
    Centurion Racing have now signed 2006 125 British Champion, Daniel Cooper, to ride alongside his former 125 team-mate James ‘Westy’ Westmoreland for the 2007 season in the British Supersport series. The decision, which releases Pete Spalding from his contract with Centurion Racing, follows three tests at Jerez, Cartagena and Valencia, after which it was decided that the team needed riders with potential and total commitment to hopefully take Centurion Racing to the top spots of the grid in the 2007 season.

  • BOS: New Silencer For Honda CBR125R
    BOS, the Dutch performance exhaust specialists, have introduced a light alloy silencer for the UK’s best selling learner motorcycle, the Honda CBR125R. These high quality silencers are handmade in the BOS factory in south-west Holland, where they have over 30 years experience of exhaust technology. It weighs just 1.6kg, which is almost 50% lighter than the original item (2.9kg). In spite of the low weight, this item is E-marked and fully road legal.

  • World of BMW: Adds Second Date For Roads To Morocco Tour
    Motorcycling enthusiasts with a taste for exotic adventure will be pleased to hear that, due to overwheliming demand, World of BMW is organising a second Roads to Morocco Tour in 2007, taking place from 30 September – 16 October. Motorcyclists will embark on the trip of a lifetime, riding through northern Spain, before taking in the great plains on their way to the spectacular city of Seville. The trip will then continue on to Algeciras, before taking the crossing to Morocco, where riders will begin the desert experience of their lives. A back-up vehicle will also follow the group on their ride through Morocco.

  • AMA SX: Stewart Seeking First Indy Supercross Win At Amp’d Mobile Series
    James Stewart is dominating this year’s Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Series. The Monster Energy Kawasaki ace has won eight of the 11 series races coming into the Indy Supercross, this Saturday, March 24 in the RCA Dome in downtown Indianapolis. Stewart leads the AMA standings by 29 points over L&M Yamaha’s Chad Reed and last week in Orlando he edged five-time champ Ricky Carmichael in an exciting race, which was Carmichael’s final AMA Supercross appearance. Coming into Indy Stewart has 19-career AMA Supercross wins, tying him with Damon Bradshaw for seventh on the all-time wins list, but for all of his impressive accomplishments, the one thing Stewart has never done is win in Indianapolis. The RCA Dome is the only stadium in the 16-race series where Stewart has not earned a victory.

  • MotoGP: Konica Minolta Honda Hopeful Of Better Things At Jerez
    Konica Minolta Honda are confident of better things at this weekend’s race at Jerez in southern Spain. At the first round in Qatar ten days ago, a steady start saw Shinya Nakano come home in 10th place, while other championship challengers crashed around him. Finishing the race was the aim for the former 250GP runner-up, but as the season progresses, both Team and rider are confident of improved results on the new-for-2007 800cc V4. The Konica Minolta Honda Team have been scrutinizing the data from Qatar at their technical headquarters in Verona to ensure that the lack of corner-entry confidence that afflicted Shinya at the Losail circuit isn’t a problem in Spain. It is hoped that the tighter Jerez circuit should better suit both the bike and the 29-year-old Japanese rider’s style.

  • MotoGP: Kawasaki Faces With Conviction European Debut In Jerez
    After a hard start to the year in Qatar just over seven days ago, the Kawasaki Racing Team head for the first European round of the new season at the technical Jerez circuit, for Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix. The technical Andalusian circuit welcomes back all the MotoGP teams less than a month after the Official IRTA test at the track, which saw Kawasaki's Randy de Puniet and Olivier Jacque top the timesheets on the final day of testing.
