- Is the Indian Media Sleeping?
Pls read the appended post. Whoever sent it to me is right. Our TV Channels don't know what to prioritize? may be the Public wants JUICY / SPICY news about Bollywood. Now a days (even after three days) media is covering only one news that is "Ash - Abhishek pre-engagement Ceremony".
Read it and kindly forward it to as many Indians as possible. Let us at least publicize this news, which our famed media failed to do.
Major Manish H Pitambare, we are really proud of you. We salute your braveness which will make us live in peace in the future.
Star versus 'Star'
The body of Major Manish Pitambare, who was shot dead at Anantnag, was cremated with full military honours at Thane on Wednesday
On Tuesday a news swept across all the news channels 'Sanjay Datt relieved by the court'. 'Sirf Munna Not a bhai' '13 saal ka vanvaas khatam' 'alhough found guilty for possession of armory, Sanjay can breath sigh of relief as all the TADA charges against him are withdrawn'
And then many experts like Salman khan saying 'He is a good person. We knew he will come out clean' Mr. Big B 'Datt family and our family have relations for years he's a good kid. He is like elder brother to abhishek'. His sister priya Datt 'we can sleep well tonight.it's a great relief'
In other news, Parliament was mad at Indian team for performing bad; Greg chapel said something ...; Bomb scare in gorakhpoor express; and Shah Rukh Khan replaces Big B in KBC and Sonia asked PM to consider reducing petroleum prices (I wonder who's the PM .anyways that is not the topic so leave it.) But most of the emphasis was given on Sanjay Datt's "phoenix like" comeback from the ashes of terrorist charges.
Surfing through the channels, one news on BBC startled me, it read, Hisbul Mujahidin's Most wanted terrorist 'Sohel Faisal' killed in anantnag, India. Indian Major leading the operation lost his life in the process. Four others are injured.
It was past midnight, I started visiting the foolish Indian channels, the ones who are 'Sabse TEZ', but Sanjubaba was still ruling. They were telling How Sanjubaba pleaded to the court saying 'I am the sole bread earner for my family' 'I have a daughter who is studying in US who will look after her'. And then they showed how sanjubaba was not wearing his lucky blue shirt while he was hearing the verdict. Also how he went to every temple and prayed for last some months. A suspect in Mumbai bomb blasts, convicted under armory act...was being made into a hero.
Sure Sanjubaba has a daughter; sure sanjubaba did not do any terrorist thing as in bombing some place or hijacking an airplane etc. Possessing an AK47 is considered too elementary in terrorist community and also one who possesses an AK47 has a right to possess a pistol so that again is not such a big crime; Sure sanjubaba went to all the temples; Sure he did a lot of gandhigiri but then..., people. please read on...
Major Manish H Pitambare got the information from his sources about the terrorists' whereabouts. Wasting no time he attacked the camp killed the Hisbul mujahidin's suprimo and in the process lost his life... To the bullets fired from an AK47..
He has a wife and a daughter (just like sanjubaba), age ...18 months.
Major Manish never said 'I have a daughter' .before he took the decision to attack the terrorist hide out in the darkest of nights?
He never thought about having a family and he being the bread earner
No news channel covered this since they were too busy hyping a former drug addict, an actor in real and reel life, a suspect who's linked to bomb blasts which killed hundreds. Their aim was to show how he defied the TADA charges and they were so successful that his conviction in possession of armory had no meaning. They also concluded that his parents in heaven must be happy and proud of him..
Parents of Major Pitambare are still on this earth and they have to live rest of their lives without their beloved son. His daughter won't ever see her papa again.
Finally, to my generation there is no greater hero than one who laid his life in the name of this great nation

An old man was sitting on a

up to the bench and sat down. He had
spiked hair in all different

The old man just stared and stared.
Every time the young man
looked, the old man was staring.
The young man finally said
sarcastically,
"What's the matter old timer, never done anything wild in

Without batting an eye, the old man replied,
"Got

Check out: Blue Billion Dreamz
Poetic Resignation
The name is good, the brand is
big
But the work I do is that of a pig
The work or the brand; what is my way?
I don't know if I should stay.
To
work, they have set their own way
Nobody will care to hear
what I say
My will be NULL, they
wont change their way
I don't know if I should
stay.
The project is in a critical stage
But to do good work, this is the age
This dilemma is killing me day by day
I don't know if I should stay.
The money is good, the place is great
But the development is at a very small rate
Should I go for the work, or wait for pay
I don't know if I should stay!
The managers don't know what they talk
The team doesn't know where they walk
That's a bad situation, what say?
I don't know if I should stay.
I can go to any other place
But what if I get the same disgrace
I can't keep switching day by day
I don't know if I should stay.
The -ves are more, the +ves are less
Then why have this unnecessary mess
No more will I walk their way,
It's all done, I won't stay.
Thanks & Regards

If you feel right go in the same way
May god give you the work, the challenge you want
Anyway there is always a second chance
Chances are there, grab them snatch them
That is what I can say
Keep on jumping companies to get more and more and more....
That will keep you always a fore (Even to me)
>From my experience I can tell you
Being in software development is like taking hell out of you
You are frustrated since you have no quality work
And you were frustrated because you had quantity work
It's always like that previous job was better than the current one
And expects the new job will be much better than this one
But what you get is a frustration level up to sun
Than you will again send the resignation like this one
This is all what I want to say
Have you completed all the formalities?
Filled the form and got it signed from department humanities (HR)
Once done you can take all your cash
But don't refer others as they will follow you're a*s.
At last I appreciate your contribution to the company
Even though there was not any....
You will keep a copy of this with you for FYI
Don't feel shy
As I also got it some time back from my old manger say Hi....

- Blue billion Dreamz - Crazy imagination
This is going to be sounding really really crazy...
Please don screw me or sue me up after reading this frenz... this is purely an imaginative anlaltic post... Take it lightly and comments welcome... :)
You need a team that is well balanced and has players who fit into various roles perfectly. BIG NAMES does not cut it all too well but there has to be a handful of them too. My 15 will be as below.
Openers
It is always good to have good openers in any side. We have some of the best players here.
Sachin - Proven Match winner. Can bowl when required.
Saurav - Brilliant left hand batsman and has always done well in the top. Can bowl a bit if required.
Manoj prabhakar - Brilliant swing bowler. Decent opening batsman.
I had to drop Sehwag cause of his high inconsistency. Same with Srikanth. Srikanth was brilliant when the pitch suited his style but was a complete disaster at some points. Gavaskar was a bit too slow and Same goes for Ravi Shastri. I have decided not to consider others cause they do not fit well in scheme of things.
Middle Order
Good stability. Can do well even if openers fail cheaply. Rotate strike and move the score board
Rahul Dravid - He always adds stability to the team. I was thinking of including Gavaskar here but then decided that Rahul is always better.
Dilip Vengsarkar - Good player in almost all conditions.
Mohd. Azhararuddhin - Always liked his style of batting and a fantastic run accumulator. Can bowl a bit if required too. A fantastic fielder.
Yuvaraj Singh - No one can take this place from him. One of the better new breed of players in the current team. Can bowl if required too. A fantastic fielder.
Ajay Jadeja - A fantastic finisher and a brilliant fielder. Can bowl a bit if required too.
Gundappa Vishwanath - A fantastic player. Great batsman.
Kapil Dev - One of the best all rounder's India ever had. He will also be the captain of the side. He may not have the aggressiveness of Ganguly or ideas of Dravid or keen sense of Azhar but he is really good at what he is capable of.
It was not too hard to choose these folks. I missed out on Amarnath, Sandhip Patel and others but it is very difficult to replace any of the above.
Wicket Keepers
Paint me OLD STYLE but I'd like my wicket keeper to do 2 things. 1. To keep wickets PROPERLY and hence give confidence to bowlers to bowl that much extra hard. 2. To motivate the bowlers and upset the batsman. A bit of batting will come in handy but I do not want my wicket keeper to be a supreme batsman unless the wicketkeeper is named GILLY.
Syed Kirmani - hands down THE BEST keeper India ever had aside from Farokh Engineer. No ways could I ignore him at all.
Kiran More - More was always active and always buzzing. I've seen some brilliant stuff from him which I do not recollect any wicket keeper has done.
Mongia is a decent batsman and an OK keeper. So he was not considered. Dhoni is good but he has a long way to go before he can touch the above two in keeping skills. More over, the top and middle order is too strong to require another batsman in the team.
Bowlers
Anyone who can bowl and do that well is considered. When you have a team with two really good bowlers in Kapil and Prabhakar and more or less quite a few can roll their arms over well, you need bowlers who can either do a good job of containing the batsman or take wickets.
Anil Kumble - If I can only have one spinner in the team, I'd want it to be Kumble. He got very good variations and he can contain the batsman well.
Roger Binny - Beautiful fast bowler who can swing the ball well.
Harbajan Singh - Wicket taking bowler and has good variations too. Flights the ball well.
Missed out on lots. Madhan lal, Sivaramakrishnan, Raju, Zaheer, Prasad etc but I'd stick with those as I have more confidence in them.
Playing 11
Saurav
Sachin
Dravid
Azhar
Vishwanath
Yuvi
Kapil
Srinath
Kirmani
Kumble
Binny

- Blue Billion Dreamz - Chapter 3
The Great Wall of India
Rahul Dravid, a cricketer who seamlessly blends an old-world classicism with a new-age professionalism, is the best No. 3 batsman to play for India - and might even be considered one of the best ever by the time his career is done. He already averages around 60 at that position, more than any regular No. 3 batsman in the game's history, barring Don Bradman. Unusually for an Indian batsman, he also averages more overseas - around 60, again - than at home. But impressive as his statistics are, they cannot represent the extent of his importance to India, or the beauty of his batsmanship.
Proclaimed as the "Great Wall of India" by our billions, he's solid as a rock with the bat and off the field he's as cool as a kitten handling all the media pressure and the likes. He has always been a support for all the out of form players and firmly believe in their match winning potentials. No point in mentioning those names, cos it beyond the scope of this post about the Wall.
He's the most successful one day captain for India till date and his ultimate destination will be to victorious in the big screen of cricket, the World Cup. So lots of hopes entrust not only on his bat but also on his leadership. Lets pray that the Almighty give him a chance to hold another cup ( this time the World cup) as depicted in the pic ?

The GOD - Part 2
The World Cup team has Sachin Tendulkar as vice-captain. This has increased his responsibity and the hopes of the blue billion.
Firstly, as Gaekwad says, Dilip Vengsarkar should be commended for coaxing Tendulkar to take on the vice-captaincy role. This is a move that has Indian cricket's interests at its core. Tendulkar has always been a loyal, passionate and unshakeable servant of Indian cricket. I do not believe that the vice-captaincy will not do much to either diminish or augment that aspect of his game. He will play as only Tendulkar can. He has always been a fiercely responsible and a thorougly committed player that has the team's best interests at heart. Again, I do not believe that the vice-captaincy mantle will not do much to either diminish or augment that aspect of his game.
He has the agility to manage all odds and for sure, he's the one who can make the blue billion Smile :)
Comments and critics welcome :-)

- Blue Billion Dreamz..... Chapter3
The GOD - Part1
There is a very famous slogan in this Cricket crazy nation, "If cricket is religion, then Sachin is the GOD". The man who disturbs and haunts all the best of the best bowlers in the world. The prolific batsman of all times.
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar (born April 24, 1973) is an Indian cricketer, widely considered to be one of the greatest batsmen of all time. He currently holds the records for the most cumulative runs in One-Day Internationals, and the most number of centuries scored in both One-day Internationals and Test cricket. He made his international debut against Pakistan in 1989 at the age of sixteen, becoming India's youngest Test player. Although primarily a top-order batsman, Tendulkar has often proved to be a useful and effective slow bowler. He received India's highest sporting honour, the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna in the year 1997-1998 and the civilian award Padma Shri in 1999. His cricketing and batting abilities are widely regarded as genius by many stalwarts of the game. For instance, Sir Donald Bradman, the Australian great said of Sachin, "He reminds me of myself". He is affectionately known as The Little Master by his adoring fans. Also called as "Master Blaster"....

Maharaja of Cricket - Part 2
Author and journalist Debashish Dutta would like everyone to read the whole book. But there is a particular chapter that he thinks budding cricketers will find inspirational.
"The Lord of Lords is a chapter that if youngsters read and get inspired, I will be very happy. At that time, Sourav was new, the atmosphere in the dressing room was not happy and he was though of as a quota cricketer. But he made it," said Debashish Dutta, Author, The Maharaja of Cricket.
While the book is not the first one that focuses on Sourav Ganguly and it surely won't to be the last, Maharaja of Cricket promises to find a permanent place for itself on many bookshelves.
With DADA rocking in the team, Team INDIA is sure to rock as well....!
Here are some of Ganguly's achievements
A lot of ppl here just don't get the fact that Ganguly is one of the best players ever! Instead, they resort to berating him. Here's a list of his achievements for you all to ponder over:
1. He is currently 4th in the list of most runs scored in ODIs with 9553 runs at a very respectable average of 42.08.
2. He is 2nd in the most number of centuries hit in ODIs with 22.
3. He has 161 sixes in his OD career. That's only behind Jayasuriya and Afridi. With Tendulkar mellowing down, he's the best six hitter in the Indian team and one of the best in the world.
4. Ganguly is the fastest to reach 7000, 8000 and 9000 runs in OD cricket. He was also the second fastest to reach 6000 runs.
5. He has scored over 1000 runs in a calendar year on 5 Occassions.
6. He's got 78 fify-plus scores in 255 matches. So on aveage, he scores a 50 after 3.2 matches.
7. He formed the most successful partnership along with Sachin Tendulkar in ODIs. They scored 5621 runs together at an average of over 49. They once put on 258 runs for the opening wicket and this record still stands. The second highest opening partnership is 252 runs and it was put on by.................Tendualkar and Ganguly!
8. Ganguly and Dravid had a then world record partnership for any wicket of 318 runs against Sri Lanka in the '99 WC. Ganguly scored 183 runs in that match which was also the record for the highest ODI score by an Indian.
9. In the Sahara Cup 1997, Saurav Ganguly set a new World Record for 5 consecutive Man of the Match Awards. He was also the Man of the Series.
10. Saurav Ganguly has the distinction of being one of the few players in the World to Score a century and take 4 wickets in the same match. (ODIs)
11. He is the only captain after 20 years to lead an Indian side into the WC finals.
12. Ganguly made a scintillating 141 when India successfully chased 314 runs for victory against Pakistan in Dhaka. This was a world record chase at the time.
13. Saurav Ganguly scored a Century on Debut at Lords in 1996, and went on to score a century in the very next match as well.
Check out for the "GOD OF CRICKET" in the forthcoming chapters....
