Established by an Act of Parliament in 1756 in the shadow of Southwark cathedral, but dates back to at least the 13th century.
Wholesale during the week, but the food market on Fridays and Saturdays is hugely popular with Londoners and visitors who appreciate good food.
Possibly getting a little too trendy for its own good (sometimes with prices to match) but excellent quality produce abounds.
