There’s a really interesting article that I’m keen to discuss concerning should white people be doing african dance and playing african drums. I’ve set up a poll on this topic and would be very interested in hearing people’s experiences and opinions.

I have just posted a djembe solo for soli in the djembefola djembe forum . It’s a solo I was taught before but I stake now claim to it being traditional or anything as I didn’t learn it from an authoritive person. Anyway enjoy, I hope to get some feedback and perhaps a few phrases back….

Here’s a video of Fadouba dancing with his family. Fadouba Oulare is an original djembe master and was lead soloist for the Ballet of Guinea before Famoudou Konate and Mamady Keita. He was born in Faranah in Guinea somewhere between 1930 and 1935.
