- An Evening with Renowned Illustrator, Marshall Vandruff
The Role of Anatomy in Training Master Artists presented by Marshall Vandruff
Join The Art Institute of California Orange County for an evening with Marshall Vandruff as he demonstrates how master artists draw the human figure from imagination. He compares anatomy plates with finished paintings and shows that mastery of the figure requires at least two skills: understanding anatomy and inventing forms. The lecture includes time to draw notes from some of the examples presented.
Vandruff has been a freelance illustrator for nearly 30 years. His client roster includes MAD Magazine, Warner Brothers, Hanna-Barbera, Dark Horse Comics, Nickelodeon and over forty advertising agencies including DGWB and Chiat Day Mojo. He has taught over 200 courses at colleges and universities since 1984 and has been asked to teach anatomy, drawing and composition courses for companies such as Rockstar, Insomniac Games, Disneyland, LeapFrog Animation and Blizzard Entertainment.
