Does your site show up in the search engines? If not, what you need is an SEO firm. But not every SEO firm is the same. In fact, in my opinion, this is an industry you need to be very careful in. There are some companies who claim that they can get you indexed by 200 different search engines for a one-time fee of $199. Then, on the other side of the spectrum, I know of companies who will charge you more than $10,000 a month just for consultation and recommendationson how you can optimize your site. Are either of these scenario's a good bargain? Absolutely not. Getting indexed in 200 search engines is absolutely unecessary. What's important is that you're in the top 3 search engines, Google, Yahoo, and MSN. If your site is in these engines, you'll get indexed by any of the others. And do you have to pay to get indexed in these search engines? Absolutely not, so don't think you have to pay for it. What you need to be looking for in a search engine optimization firm is credibility, honesty, and customer service. Take a look at what they have done for their clients. Look at their reporting. Make sure they are getting high quality links. Make sure they are doing keyword research and optimizing your site with it. Make sure they have a good form of web analytics so that they can be tracking which keywords are actually converting etc. Those are just a few of the important things you should be looking for in a legitimate Seo Firm. Make sure that the first place you look is www.seo.com. If you don't think they are what you're looking for, they'll gladly recommend someone else. You cant lose with SEO.com.
