  • Survival Tips And Advice: Get Acquainted With The Flora And Fauna
http://www.andinia.com/articles/survival_survivalism/a05217.shtml Considering that you are interested in survival techniques, let us give you some advice: If you are familiar with the flora and fauna of the region, city or country where you live, you will have more chances of surviving feeding from them in the event you suffer an emergency. You should not only be familiar with the species in your area, but also know which ones are edible and which ones are not. In the case of animals, you should also get to know their habits and the ecosystems in which they live in order to ease the burden of their capture; in other words: knowing about them will make you a better hunter. In the case of plants, you should learn about the soil, behaviour during the various seasons, and techniques applicable for seeding and cultivating them. Read more...

  • Skiketting
http://www.andinia.com/a03708.shtml Skiketting is our 'sport'. We invented it - literally - when we built special ski boards for us with special characteristics in order to enable us to move thorough uncharted areas in Patagonia. These ski boards have characteristics found on alpine, Nordic and military models, as well as some proper of snow rackets. Thus, being a combination of skiing boards and rackets, we called them 'Skikets.' Skikets allow you to move over varied kinds of snowy terrain in conditions which otherwise would require you to use alpine and Nordic variants, military accessories as well as snow rackets... • Adventure In Europe? That's Not Possible, Or Is Not Adventure!
http://www.andinia.com/articles/regions_and_countries/europe/a04825.shtml Europe in general and the European Union in particular are overpopulated. There is people almost anywhere you look, perhaps with the exception of Sweden and to a lesser extent, the newest U.E. members. You can go skiing, sailing, flying, mountain biking and so on, but as fun as those activities could get, you will always remain in fields, tracks, airspaces and places that have been prepared to look natural, for there is little natural left in Europe. If you go skiing, the 'fresh' snow is just fresh from the machine that makes it. If you look at the sky, you will see it clear if there are no clouds… and no aircraft passing over. If you go sailing, you will feel like you are in a motorway almost all the time, for the rest of the boats of the continent will be around you... Click here to read more...

  • Is It Right To Violate The Law In Order To Survive?
http://www.andinia.com/articles/survival_survivalism/a04921.shtml If you have to opt between two evils; always opt for the lesser one. While I was still at high school, I had a geography teacher that was considered fearsome by everyone. He was a Darth Vader of sorts who didn't like to be interrupted by flies fooling around while he was talking. But the old man always said that if you had to go to the W.C. you should do so without asking for any kind of permission... Read more about laws and survival...

  • The Treasure Ships
http://www.andinia.com/articles/sciences/exploration/a05185.shtml Only few times you will be able to get significant prizes without significant efforts: during the thirteenth century China had the most advanced naval and marine technology in the world, and as the ancient nation was attempting to expand its dominions and power, it began to develop oceanic commerce but had to make very significant investments in engineering and the construction of enormous shipyards. One of the mot famous promoters of these projects was Admiral Zeng He, a Muslim eunuch of Chinese ethnical origin who became the Christopher Columbus of the Far East, as he managed to build an enormous fleet of hundreds of ships, including the mythical 'Treasure Ships,' of great proportions (ranging between 70 - 160 m. long) capable of fighting as well as transporting huge amounts of valuables and goods. Their navigation techniques were also the most advanced... Read more about the treasure ships...
