  • Welcome Back
Well, I’m back online. I’ve been playing around with the server, and as such, the site wasn’t available for a while. Anyway, what’s going to happen (just to let you know) is that I’m looking around for a new theme for this site I’ve found a new theme for the site. And I’m also going to [...]

  • Help sought
This blog has been up for a little while, and while I hope it’s been really useful for a lot of you, I must admit that I am finding it increasingly hard to find things to write about. As such, posts haven’t been coming as often as I’d hoped. As such, I’m asking for a [...]

  • Sorry
Sorry, website hasn’t been available for a couple of days. I host this website from home, and the DSLAM my phone is connected to went down, and my company took their sweet time to fix it. Back up, and posts will start appearing soon! Share This

  • Scared of New pieces
Don’t want to practice because you’ve got new pieces? They’re hard and you just don’t want to tackle them. While for me, I love new pieces because they’re new, others may prefer their older pieces. Share This

  • Parental nagging
If you’re anything like I am, if my parents ask me to do something, I might do it. The more they ask me to do it, the less inclined I am to do it. This can be a problem if the thing they are nagging you about is your practice. Share This

  • Never Ending practice
The first in a series of posts looking at reasons why we might not want to practice, we look at how practice is something that we do every day, with no breaks. Right? Share This

  • But I don’t wanna…
Learning an instrument is a big commitment. It requires years of practice, every day. Sometimes you won’t want to practice, for a variety of reasons. You need to recognise the reason, and react to it. Share This

  • Composing your Practice
I’ve talked about the importance of etudes, but let’s face it, they can be a bit boring. And often, they won’t have any relevance to the pieces that we’re working on. While that may be a good thing (preparing you for future pieces), we need to have a way to focus our practice so that [...]

  • Finding time to practice
Our lives tend to get increasingly busy. Whether it’s with school, or work, the sign of success these days seems to be how busy we are. Often what that leads to is a decrease in practice time, so we need to find ways to increase our practice time in a busy life. Share This
