  • My Little Girl
Hey everyone- Just a little note to you all, as I may not be on here for a while. On Wednesday, September 12, 2007 @ 7:30 p.m. my 5 year-old Adria was struck by a motorcycle in our backyard. She was lifeflighted to a trauma center about 90 miles away from State College, where she passed away on September 13, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. due to a serious brain injury. I decided to donate her organs and know that all of the organs that could be placed have been placed and are probably already with those who needed them as we speak... My little girls heart is in Ohio now helping another 5 year-old live. It was only a week ago when I posted that God willing I'd go long before my children when, but for some reason, she was taken from us down here. Please keep my family in your prayers- especially my father, who considered Adria to be his best friend. Thanks. Elisa

  • 1947 Cornell NCAA/AAU Team Story @ RevWrestling
    * 60 Years Ago ... * In 1947, Cornell College, a school with just 650 students, snatched the NCAA team crown from the mat powerhouses of the post-World War II era, Oklahoma State and Iowa State Teachers College … becoming the smallest school to ever win the team title. How did Cornell do it? With two individual champions, and a total of six All-Americans. But there's so much more to the story, writes RevWrestling.com's Mark Palmer. http://revwrestling.com/articles/291...ornell-College

  • Great Wrestlers and Religion
so i have read in other forums, threats which try to link specific religions with great wrestling. i think that argument is false. however, there seems to be a recurring pattern of great wrestlers with strong religious affiliations/beliefs. some of the ones that come to mind are: the sandersons, the brands, Schultz, mcilravy, most every iranian, gatsalov, bill zadick, slay, carr, the pettersons. even the cuban coaches are known for giving their top athletes sacred dolls from the santeria religion, as good luck charms for their international tours. the korean national team can be seen praying before meals, in tournaments. so it seems that a specific religion does not encourage great wrestling, but having the belief that a higher authority is holding you accountable to your actions, and a higher authority is giving you backing, may be helping many of these athletes perform at their top of their game. any thoughts? have i missed any other top wrestlers with strong religious affiliations?

  • Elite XC Saturday Night
There should be a decent couple of fights from Elite XC on Showtime this Saturday night. The main event is Robbie Lawler vs Maurilo "Ninja" Rua (brother of the newest UFC stud "Shogun" Rua). Should be a great fight. Lawler throws bombs and Rua is pretty well rounded. Also is the return of Nick Diaz. He's been suspended for awhile following testing positive for weed after beating Gomi.
