  • My Other Dream Career
A few years ago before I had my two babies, I was studying to get my Associates degree in Nursing. The idea of being a travelling nurse really excited me. After I got pregnant with my first baby of course, that little career dream of mine went non-existent. I eventually stopped going to school and decided to stay home and take care of my babies instead.

Since I stayed home and relying on my husband's income, I've come up with ways to make money while staying home. Of course, they are not as consistent of an income as what you get out of a regular job, but it definitely will pay the bills with good budgeting.

But if I really become a nurse someday, I will definitely be a travelling nurse- my other dream career.

  • BlogtoProfit: Another Paid Blogging Network
Blogtoprofit is another paid blogging network where you can submit your blog and make money.

Basically, how it works is that they connect you with advertisers that are interested in sponsoring your blog, then you post about the advertiser on your blog and you get paid.

    How does your blog qualify?

Your blog doesn't have to have a page rank in order to qualify. If it's at least 3 months old and has enough backlinks and visitors, most likely your blog will get aacepted at BlogtoProfit.

Once you submit your blog for review, they will notify you if you got accepted. The website says they will review your blog and notify you after 24 hours. In the case of my other blog, I waited at least 3 days, then emailed the support person through the posted email address on their website, before I got a response.

Each post pays you $5 for a trial run, then it's suppose to go up from there.

Since you post on your blog at least 3-4 times a week anyway, blogging for such sites as Blogtoprofit or Blogsvertise 20 times a month at $5 each could easily convert to $100 a month paid blogging for you. Of course, you can make more than that with more paid blogging opportunities in the future.

  • Get Paid To Write Articles For Associated Content... And Using It As A Means To Drive Traffic To Your Website

If you are an aspiring writer or someone who just likes to write, a good place to write online and get paid for it is at Associated Content. I have been a member since October 2006, but being a busy mom of two little ones I have only started writing in August of this year. So far, I have written 3 articles and it continues to make me money.

So how does Associated Content works?

First, you sign up to become a Content Producer (CP) for Associated Content. This is how you can submit your original content to the site. You can submit articles, videos, audio, or images on any topics of your choice. When your content is approved to be published, they then email you with an offer of payment for your submitted content if you submitted it for upfront payment at the time of your submission. Otherwise, there is another option to submit it without payment, i.e. if your goal is to just get your article published to gain exposure online for your website, business, or blog. Be careful how you write these types of articles though. If it is too self-promotional, Associated Content will decline to publish it even if you submitted with no upfront payment. As with any organization, please read the Terms and Conditions of the site before you start writing or submitting your own content.

You are paid between $3-$40 depending on the uniqueness and relevance of your content. Paypal is their preferred method of payment. Besides the upfront payment you receive, you also earn money through their monthly performance bonus. The more people click and read your articles, the more money you will earn.

Another great advantage to submitting your content to Associated Content is that you can gain instant exposure online for your topic/niche. Millions of information seekers are online and since Associated Content rank high on most major search engines--Google, Yahoo, etc-- your article/content could pop up easily when people search for your unique content, thereby producing readers and driving free traffic to the site links you included in your content.

  • Ameriplan Health Care Discount Program
If you're looking to supplement your current health insurance plan so you can save even more on your healthcare costs, look no further than Ameriplan. Ameriplan programs are not insurance plans, rather they are supplemental healthcare programs that entitles you to get huge discounts for certain medical, dental services and presription drugs from healthcare providers who participate in the Ameriplan discount program.

Ameriplan has a lot of affordable healthcare discount packages to choose from ranging from medical, dental, vision, chiropractic and prescription drug discount plans. The cost is from $19.95 up to $59.95 a month for the entire family.

The plan that actually peeked my interest is the Ameriplan® Dental Plus Package. It includes an individual dental package for $19.95 a month for your entire family and applies to anyone living in the same household.

  • Get Paid To Blog For LoudLaunch
I recently submitted this blog to Loudlaunch, so I decided to discuss about it here on my blog. Here are some useful information I gathered about this blogging site:

LoudLaunch is a network who allows bloggers to earn money by reviewing and writing about advertisers’ press releases. This paid blogging site is very similar to other setups like Payperpost, Blogitive or ReviewMe, LoudLaunch and is currently accepting registrations from both advertisers and bloggers.

Here are some initial notes on LoudLaunch’s policies on blog posting and payment information:

*Full disclosure needed for sponsored posts.
*No requirement for positive posts or review.
*No limit to the number of blogs per person.
*Blogs must be in English and at least 60 days old.
*Submitted blogs need to undergo a discretionary review - emphasis on quality of writing, frequency of posts etc.
*Blogger needs to be at least 18 years old and have a valid SSN or Federal Tax ID.
*Participating blogger can only make two posts per day per blog.
*Blog posts have to remain on the blog for at least 45 days.
*Bloggers are paid based on the exposure their blog can deliver; from $5 to $200 per post.
*Payment is made only by Paypal and no other means.

Like many other bloging sites, I’m curious about how Loud Launch will turn out. I’m sure it’ll be another profitable option for bloggers looking to make money online. It’ll definitely be a welcome addition to the usual pay-to-post networks which, with the possible exception of Payperpost, seem to be experiencing a decrease in advertisers and a simultaneous increase in bloggers.

  • Free Blogger Templates
I've been getting questions about where to get nice, free blogger templates since improving the look of my blog. I'm a Blogger user and so I am more familiar with Blogger template sites that offer them free.

If you're new to blogging and are still trying to find a nice good template for your Blogger blog, I've compiled a few lists of sites to check out...hope this will help you with your search.

BloggerBuster has lots of 3-column templates. If you're like me and doesn't like the narrowness of 2-column templates, this site is a must-see. Amanda who owns the site is a great template designer and is always prompt with questions when you email her through her Contact page, all for free!

    Gecko and Fly
is a lso a good site and from my last count, has about 15 free templates to choose from for your blog.

    Final Sense
has about 5 pages of free templates to browse through..nice, clean designs too!

Free Blogger Templates is also a user-friendly site to check for cool, free templates.

And for more blogger help information, check out Blog Helper also for more tips and ideas on improving the look of your blog.

If you like this post, please add this to your Technorati favorites. The link is on the top middle page of my blog. Thanks!

  • Top 10 Sites To Blog For Money
One of the many ways for bloggers to make money online is to get paid for blogging. Here are paid blogging or paid review sites to submit your blog to make money online.

    1.
Probably the highest-paying paid blogging site, Payperpost has lots of opportunities. Even better if your site has a high PageRank, you could actually make some very nice pocket money completing the maximum limit of 3 posts a day since higher PR blogs have access to high paying offers. Currently the highest paying offer is USD 175.00 for a post - but your blog has to have a PR6. However there are quite a lot of USD5.00 - USD15.00 offers for low traffic blogs as well.

Beware though, PayPerPost has the most rules and regulations to follow such as your PPP post must be between 2 non-paid posts, and there are other advertiser requirements such as having the post title in your browser window.

You have to check in frequently if you want to get the high paying posts as these get taken up very fast. After you accept an opportunity, you have 6 hours (subject to change) to post the URL or the opportunity will be returned back onto the board que for other bloggers to see.

    2. Blogsvertise

There are not many offers on this site but if you go for quantity, all those USD5.00 posts do add up. Usually only about 100 words are required but at least 3 anchor links are mandatory for each post. You are emailed the offers from time to time but you can also browse the grab bag for offers which other bloggers have failed to complete or rejected.

The site navigation is a little annoying as you have to change the category of your blog to check if there are any other offers. In my opinion, it would be more user-friendly if all offers from the grab bag are displayed together on a page instead of having to waste time changing categories.

    3. Smorty
A fairly new site, Smorty sets the fee for a blog post according to your blog’s traffic statistics. Lower traffic blogs get a flat USD6.00 fee per post of at least 150 words. They have a limited amount of offers and types of advertisers, but promises better things to come when they grow their current list of advertisers.

    4. Sponsored Reviews
The requirements for this blogging site are fairly high. Once accepted though, you can set your own fees to a limit set by Sponsored Reviews. The opportunities are listed with traffic requirements and price offers and if your blog qualifies, you can send in a bid for the offer. This method of matching advertiser with blogger means that lower traffic blogs will find it hard to get any offers since advertisers tend to pick higher traffic blogs.

    5. ReviewMe
Has very high requirements and standards for paid blogs and unless your blog has a good Page Rank and traffic ranking, you will hardly find any offers as advertisers pick blogs and choose the ones they want to advertise on. The fee for a blog is based not entirely on PageRank, is set by ReviewMe who takes half the amount.

    6. Blogging Ads
Recently revamped, posts here work on a slightly different model in that they are already written. So all you have to do is to copy and paste onto your blog. Each blog is limited to a maximum of 3 posts a month fixed at USD5.00 per post. Your blog must be indexed by Google and more than 3 months old to be considered. Opportunities are few and limited and once you have done the current offers, you have to wait 3 months to take the same offers again, and there may not be new ones available for a couple of months.

    7. LinkWorth
They have several monetizing programs such as banners and in-text links in addition to their get paid to blog option. Member bloggers can set their own price tags for a post but must factor in LinkWorth’s share. Standard Partners get 70% of the set price while Preferred Partners get 50%. The difference is that LinkWorth markets the sites of Preferred Partners so they get more exposure and more offers from advertisers.

    8. Creamaid
One of the lowest paying sites, with fees mostly in the region of USD1.00 - USD2.00 with another dollar or two as referral fee. A large widget which serves as both the disclosure and referral button must be placed at the end of a post. If a blogger takes up the offer from your post, you will earn the referral fee.

    9. LoudLaunch
There are quite a lot of opportunities with the amount to be paid - usually USD5.00 - determined by your blog traffic and ranking. Posts rejected are not told the reason and not given a chance to rectify the problem. A large disclosure widget button has to be placed at the end of each post.

    10. Bloggerwave
Recently resolved its payment problems with PayPal and back on track with its get paid to blog programme, which the sympathetic have attributed to over-zealous PayPal admins. Many bloggers who had their payment reversed have reported getting paid even though they had already deleted their posts.

Check out other sections on this blog for more make money online opportunities such as get paid to write, and get paid to try products from home.

  • So What Is A Blog?
Put simply, a blog is a type of website that is usually arranged in chronological order from the most recent ‘post’ (or entry) at the top of the main page to the older entries towards the bottom. It is an 'online diary' covering any topic usually of interest to the writer/blogger. From photography, to spirituality, to recipes, to personal diaries to hobbies - blogging has as many applications and varieties as you can imagine.

Blogs are usually (but not always) written by one person and are updated pretty regularly.

If you are new to blogging and want some hints on how to get started - a very good reference is Darren Rowse's "Blogging for Beginners" tips. Join the blogosphere and explore ways to make money by blogging.

A blog is virtually free to set up and easy to maintain and manage. Just use Blogger (like this blog), Wordpress, movable type, or Typepad to set up a free account and start blogging.

One thing I can offer as a sort of advice is "read, research and learn". There are a lot of things to know and learn about blogging. You will soon find this out as you blog along, but the benefits you gain are well worth the time and effort you put into it.

  • Top 100 Make Money Online Blogs
Mark, the nice blogger guy from 45n5.com has compiled a list of the Top 100 Make Money Online Blogs to serve as a reference guide for anyone interested to make money online.

According to him, blogs are ranked using many metrics and bloggers can use it to see where their blogs stand against friends and competition alike. Advertisers will also find it a helpful reference when deciding where to spend their advertising dollar.

Top of the list of as expected, are familiar favourites like ProBlogger, John Chow, Shoemoney and Dosh Dosh. The list gets updated weekly and as of this week, I'm on Number 158..hmm, not bad I guess for a fairly new blog. ;)

Hmm, if I could even make it to the very bottom of Top 100, I'd just be happy...who knows one lucky day. :)
