  • We have eight percent of the World's Best Players!
According to a report today by four-four two magazine, eight of the world's hundred best players practice their trade at Old Trafford. Cristiano Ronaldo (at number 2) and Wayne Rooney (8) made the top-ten, while the other United players to have been included in the list were Paul Scholes (12), Rio Ferdinand (24), Ryan Giggs (29), Owen Hargreaves (52), Nemanja Vidic (78) and Gary Neville (85) (continued..)

  • Owen Exudes Confidence, Anderson shows gratitude
Summer signing Owen Hargreaves is full of optimism despite United'ss slow start to the season. And in the absence of our more coveted attacking players, Hargreaves has emerged as one of our standout players. His tenacity and ball-winning ability are second to none, while his willingness to shoot from range will surely pay dividends in the future. With the quality of talent we have still to return, the presence of Owen Hargreaves marshalling the midfield will no doubt be of reassurance to more attack-minded players.

  • What a bad start to the season...
After so much talk about just how terribly United have begun the season, a little reminder for all the doubters. We're two - yes two - points behind the Chelsea side than lost against Villa yesterday, having played the same number of games. John Terry, please shut up. Meanwhile, Liverpool fans are riding a wave of optimism (continued...)

  • Match Report: Manchester United 1:0 Sunderland
And there it is - back to back wins! That's right folks, two in a row! Seriously though, it was a result Manchester United needed badly. And while it wasn't by any means our most convincing performance, we'll more than happily take three points. With Everton and then Chelsea to come, dropping points at home to Sunderland was never an option. (continued...)

  • Build Up - Manchester United Verses Sunderland
It was hardly going to be low profile. Just days after one United legend brings an end to his playing days, another returns to Old Trafford, albeit in the opposition's dugout. Bryan Robson, Steve Bruce, Mark Hughes - all former favourites to have pitted their skills against Manchester United's most successful manager. This may just top them all. Sir Alex Ferguson will do battle with arguably the best player to have played under his management. It's mentor verses protege, and it will be very very interesting. (continued...)

  • No group from hell - but no doddle either
The Champions League groups are out, and it looks like we've got a right humdinger on our hands. Well not really, that's just me trying to expand my vocabulary. Still, it's not going to be easy by any stretch of the imagination. For those who don't know, Group F looks like this: (1) Manchester United (2) Roma (3)Sporting Lisbon (4) Dynamo Kiev

  • John Terry gives his 'expert' analysis
So John Terry has voiced an ominous warning: "It's going to be difficult for United. I would have expected United to have started a bit better but a lot of clubs have bought really well over the summer. Five points is a hell of a gap to have this early on." Well that's it then. We might as well give up. Notice how five points wasn't such a big gap to Terry and co. last season when Chelsea were trailing, despite the fact there were many less points to play for.

  • Ole Gunnar Solskjaer - A True Red Legend
People say Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was underrated. Not by the Old Trafford faithful he wasn't. Though the Norwegian striker may have decided to call time on his career, you can guarantee that his name will be sung at Old Trafford for years to come. And what a career he had. After eleven years at the club, 'the baby faced assassin' will be remembered a fondly as any player to have ever donned a United shirt.

  • Match Report : Manchester United 1 - 0 Tottenham Hotspurs
A tangible sigh of relief swept across Old Trafford as Man Utd picked up their first three points of the season. In what was an understandably anxious performance, the result probably did reflect the balance of play, although Martin Jol's side were defensively excellent and will no doubt feel aggrieved not be be granted a penalty after an alleged Wes Brown handball. Still, having dominated their first three Premiership games with no reward, United will feel that any luck that came their way was more than due.

  • Match Report : Build up - Man United Vs Spurs
At the start of season, before any football had been played, you could have looked over Manchester United's fixture list and seen Sunday 26 August as a relatively innocuous date. You would have hoped - perhaps expected - that United would have picked up 9 points in their first three games; perhaps at worst we might have dropped a couple at City. But not this. Just another game against challenging opponents has turned into a must-win scenario; a match which may have quite a bearing on the future of our season. And while I'm not going to be so melodramatic as to hype the game up as a potential title-race preserver, it's hard to underestimate the importance of three points.
