- Er. Where’d the posts about Mac’s and online marketing go?
Since the middle of last year, all posts about the Mac/Apple have been published directly on my new(er) Macintosh-specific blog, On a Mac.
I also recently started a new online marketing blog - Online Marketing Performance.
These blogs were started as they held two of the main themes on this blog which were intertwined with a lot [...]

- Terralever Silverlight 1.0 game on Miniclip.com
Last year Terralever took on the challenge of creating a game with Silverlight. In doing so, our overall goal was to release something compelling that coincided with Silverlight’s public coming-out party; establishing that casual gaming was a viable usage of the Silverlight platform. That game was called Zero Gravity, and it received a warm welcome [...]

- Penny for your thoughts… $10 for…
For whatever reason I keep stumbling across sites this week which are willing to pay visitors to help build their content base. The latest: Today I came across Epinions’ “10 for 10 Promotion” which is currently offering $10 for every 10 product/service reviews (I bet you saw that coming).
How are they combatting automagic spam junk? [...]

- Quick Hit: Facebook and Google this… Facebook and Google that…
Googling Facebook
Facebook previously announced the availability of limited profile data to search engines. I’ve checked here and there and hadn’t seen any evidence, but Facebook profile data is now definitely being returned (by Google at least). A search for “Scott McAndrew” (yeah, that’s vain, I know) shows the Google result to be a [...]

- PhizzPop LA 2008 reflections 1: The problem statement
To reiterate a previous post, Terralever participated in the Los Angeles PhizzPop Design Challenge last week. The challenge has come and gone, and the disorientation of working three-and-a-half days with very little sleep is finally wearing off. In the end, Terralever’s solution was not the winning one. Honors and congratulations go to [...]

- PhizzPop Design Challenge Los Angeles
Microsoft’s PhizzPop Design Challenge combines a few days of training with a hyper-compressed time line to creatively solve a design challenge. While the solutions are to utilize Microsoft’s Expression Suite of products for execution, the focus is in solving an agency challenge creatively (and quickly).
Terralever was invited to participate in the Los Angeles Challenge. [...]

- Checkout Keepon’s smooth moves
Wired Science closed out tonight’s episode (11/27) with a catchy video starring Keepon, a happy little dancing robot. The video from YouTube is embedded below (Keepon Dancing to Spoon’s “Don’t You Evah”).
The still before the video started reads:
Keepon, the dancing yellow robot, was designed and built by his video co-star, roboticist and psychologist Hideki [...]

- This game will help end world hunger. Literally.
Keeping it simple can make a difference, and Poverty.com’s sister site FreeRice is a perfect example. FreeRice has two goals:
Provide English vocabulary to everyone for free.
Help end world hunger by providing rice to hungry people for free.
Execution against these goals resulted in a very casual online word game which, for each correctly answered multiple-choice [...]

- Bug Labs’ hardware mashup mentality
Bug Labs is bringing a mashup mentality to hardware by way of a series of modules which snap together not unlike the way Legos would. The BUGbase and the BUGmodules don't look like children's toys, nor do they look like Radio Shack geek tech. They look like something you might pay good money for at BestBuy.

- One Laptop per Child and one for…
You may know it as the “$100 laptop.” But, let’s call it by its lesser-known name, the XO as it never made it down to the $100 price point. The computer, aimed at providing laptops for needy kids by way of the One Laptop per Child project, has been the cause of speculation, [...]
