If you've ever seen Jack's Big Music Show on Noggin
http://www.noggin.com/shows/jacks.php
or heard the Laurie Berkner Band
http://www.twotomatoes.com/site/
then you know what I'm talking about- otherwise, if you have a little one check them out- good stuff imho. We have the "Under A Shady Tree" CD so far- I totally recommend it- and thats coming from someone who can't stand Disney Radio.
-and yes, I'm aware of opinions re: tv and kids, but as it turns out- Erin currently doesn't even like cartoons- but she LOVES watching hockey- I can't possibly discourage that ;) Go Blues! and oh yeah, I guess the jackets are ok,too- neither of them have my confidence when it comes down to making the playoffs though, sorry fellas.
Well, my interest in posting/updating the website like anything else seems to come and go ;) of course, I'm lucky enough to be able to spend some time at home with my daughter a couple days per week, but that doesn't really seem to translate in to what I would have traditionally called "free time." but thats okay. anyway, my wife and I have been looking for things to do/share with the munchkin as she gets older- like swimming classes at the Y, ice-skating or whatever. I've managed to slowly begin to get interested in coin collecting again. When I was a kid my Dad and I used to go to coin shows and such together and it was pretty cool- I enjoy history, etc- though I was never geeky enough to get in to stamps ;) anyway, when I was a freshman in college there was a fire however luckily all we lost were possesions like my coin/paper money/comic book collections. anyway- so I'm slowly getting interested again and I guess it started partially from my wife being a tad interested in the state quarters program and then a thought to get my daughter a proof set from the year she was born from the mint. Anyway, as it turns out the mint is starting another interesting program with US Presidents- they're going to be churning out a few dollar coins a year with their likeness starting with the first 4- can you and/or your kids name them in order and give a little historical summary? Well, not that it matters that much- but hey- George is coming out soon as well as the proof set. see the mint's website for details and to purchase things like that if you're interested. There also seems to be a market for this stuff on eBay. Some of the earlier state quarters silver proof sets like 1999 and 2001 seem to be doing well on there.
P.S. someone spilled Cola on the keyboard and now the comma sticks ;))))
Check out Erin playing with some of her presents on 12/30/06. Erin now has 2 top teeth and 2 bottom teeth.

HAS IT BEEN SO LONG? ;) Well, Merry XMAS, Happy holidays and/or a prosperous financial quarter to you- whichever is approved for use at the moment.
The baby is doing well,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, though some sort of sticky substance appears to be under the comma in my keyboard- yuck. expect pictures and/or a video dvd- probably not until after xmas. I may acrually post some more up here soon if I get a chance- she naps much less during the day now but has been sleeping through the night for over a month so whos going to complain ;).
The interest rates aren't comparably great lately but hey- if you or someone you love is the recipient of an online savings bond gift or if you'd like to buy an e-bond (essentially)- you can open an account to manage them and/or buy more with the treasury here-
...and to pump a product from a past poor(?) stock pick of mine- heres one for all you diabetics looking to respond to low blood sugar quickly and I suppose for you low calorie sugar junkies- maybe some day they'll get their oral insulin approved some place other than Ecuador :)http://www.glucoserapidspray.com/

OK, so I can officially not recommend Similac to anyone despite the Ohio connection and the cooler logo than some of the other companies.
Wouldn't you know we bought whole boxes of these 32 0z plastic bottles of Similac Advance w/ Iron from BJ's and about 1/2 way through the last one of them we used we decided Erin was a bit "colicky"/irritable or whatever and went and tried a bunch of formulas to deal with those symptoms- with her doing a lot better on Enfamil's Nutramigen. So we assumed there was something wrong with Erin's tummy and not something wrong with the Similac we had been purchasing ;) We were even blaming the Similac at the time since she wasn't really doing well on any Similac product and decided maybe she wasn't "allergic" to milk so much as she was "allergic" to Similac.
Anyway, we don't actually have any of the recalled bottles, but we do have 2 bottles we decided not to use a while ago left over from the last big pack we abandoned and quit giving to Erin- but the lot number is like one digit off from one of the recalled lots. Interestingly, our hospital discharge pack from Similac was one number below the recalled hospital discharge pack- but in theory some family out there could have used both the discharge pack and bought up a big box of the formula that has been recalled. Who knows if any of the bottle we used and discarded in the past have now been "recalled."
HERES THE RELEASE CURRENTLY FOR THE LIQUID FORMULA:

The Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association represents more than 220 police departments and law enforcement agencies throughout Ohio, including ranking officers and chiefs. The national association represents 238,000 rank and file police officers across the country.
“I am grateful for the overwhelming support I've received from Ohio's law enforcement community,” said gubernatorial candidate Congressman Ted Strickland. “These men and women are on the front lines keeping Ohioans' safe, and as governor I'll be as committed to them as they are to our state."
