- New Cat Bed
Our cats are spoiled but I think they deserve it. We just recently bought them a 26 inch wide slumber ball which turned out to be a very comfortable bed for them to sink into. Patches just loves it and recently Lucky decided to try it out as well. I hope they don't fight over it or we will have to get another one.
Sun, 10 Feb 2008 14:05:15 GMT - Vet Appointment Update
Patches had her vet appointment today and it's good news. She has put some weight back on and the vet said her heart as well as her kidney, bladder, and etc appears to be good. The most difficult thing for CRF cats is getting them to eat and eat well. So far we have been able to consistently get her to eat 1 can of food a day which is the most she has in a long time. So we are happy she is doing so well and hope she is with us for many more years.

In 2006, I had written in my blog that Patches went on a hunger strike. Well it turned out that there was more wrong than we realized. She was diagnosed with CRF in January of this year. She has been doing okay but lost some weight and has now been put on blood pressure medication. Anyone interested in knowing more about CRF should visit this website: http://www.felinecrf.org/

Exercise is the name of the game. Lucky is on a small exercise routine. I got him some new toys and have been running him around the house in the evenings. Patches will play a little too but not as much as Lucky. It's interesting what toys one will like and the other won't.

Patches cat went on a hunger strike. We noticed that she had been losing weight and not eating much. She never really liked the new food we started them on last year. So I bought her the Indoor formula of Cat Chow, the previous food she was on. And she has been eating it up and looking much better now.

I don't know what I would do without my furry alarm clock. Patches decided to wake us up early this morning. Even though it can be bothersome I think I would always want my furry alarm clock to be there.

Ever have a cat climb onto your shoulders? I have, Lucky has done it since he was a kitten. He just loves to lay across the shoulders. Today he reminded me of that. It's funny what cats will do.

Lucky has been leaving fur packets all over the place again. A fur packet is what we call them, these little poofs or balls of fur just laying there on the carpet. This seems to happen more in the summer time. I guess it's because he is a medium hair cat and has more fluffy fur underneath. I am constantly picking up his fur packets. At least he loves to be brushed then I think we would have more fur packets to deal with.

It was before 6am this morning when Lucky decided to get on the bed, start purring loudly, and bite momma's fingers. The Patches joined in with jumping on us and mewing. My boyfriend says they're just evil.

This morning Patches decided that the best way to get momma up would be to stand on momma's side, front paws on the shoulder, and meow loudly in momma's ear. Now that would be the first time she has done this but it was effective. I rolled out of bed and gave them some food. It's been like this since they were kittens, I have to feed them every morning even if there is food in the bowl.
