- WSO2 Announces Web Services Framework for Spring
WSO2 announced release of the WSO2 Web Services Framework for Spring 1.0. WSF/Spring 1.0 provides flexibility to developers to using the open Source Spring Framework. It enables developers to adopt a "code first" or "contract first" methodology for creating web services. WSF/Spring 1.0 also integrates with the Grails for rapid development of web services.
- Active Endpoints Releases Reference Implementation of BPEL4People and WS-HumanTask
Active Endpoint announced the release of ActiveVOS 5.0, the newest release of the company's visual orchestration product. ActiveVOS 5.0 supports orchestration based on specifications such as BPEL4People, WS-HumanTask, WS-Addressing, WS-ReliableMessaging, WS-Security, and WS-Policy.

- University of Konstanz Database Group Announces BaseX
The Database and Information Systems Group at the University of Konstanz announced BaseX version 4.0, a native XML database implementation. BaseX is an open-source project that supports XQuery 1.0, content-based indexes and partial support of XQuery Full-Text.
- Pixware Releases XMLmind XML Editor Version 3.7
Pixware's XMLmind division announced the release of version 3.7 of the XMLmind XML Editor. The new release adds support for DITA DTD 1.1 and includes DITA Open Toolkit version 1.4. It has no restriction on schemas and supports DTD, W3C XML Schema, Relax NG and Schematron.
