McLarnon's Irish Eyes Are Smiling on Duramed FUTURES Tour
As if to pinch herself that she was really in the field of her first Duramed FUTURES Tour event, Brenda McLarnon found herself staring into the sky early in the week as the flags of 19 different nations were raised representing players in the tournament field. A steady smile crept across her face as the Irish flag was hoisted.
McLarnon had attended a Tour event in 2005 to watch her former College of Charleston teammate Sapna Patel of Sydney, Australia compete when she noticed there was no Irish flag flying at the event. When she asked why, she was told it was because there were no Irish players in the field.
"So Brenda knew there would be a flag here this week," said Patel, playing in her second season this year. "And she's pretty happy about that."

Combining these features with more lakes than most other courses in the Southwest, the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort & Spa is a wonderful setting for the PGA Tour and the Chrysler Classic of Tucson
OMNI TUCSON NATIONAL GOLF RESORT AND SPA HOSTS 29TH CHRYSLER CLASSIC OF TUCSON The Chrysler Classic of Tucson, or better yet the "Futurity Stakes," has earned a reputation as a launching pad for careers of PGA tour newcomers and the resurgence of seasoned veterans. From Feb. 23 to Feb. 27, 2005, the tournament returns to the rolling fairways of the Omni Tucson National Golf Resort and Spa for its 29th year. The ninth oldest tournament on the PGA tour features a highlight reel of 55 years of classic action, which includes first-time victories for Phil Mickelson, Lee Janzen, Jim Carter and the 2001 champion Garrett Willis. Many historical golf legends such as Ben Hogan, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer have tested their skills at the Tucson Open, while current tour professionals Bruce Lietzke and Craig Stadler both jump-started their careers with victories at this unpredictable tournament. The Omni Tucson National Golf Resort and Spa is also the host of the Southern Arizona Tucson Open, the Future Collegians Tournament and the International Junior Tour. The traditional style course features impeccably groomed fairways and greens, mature trees and many lakes, as well as an 18th hole that is considered one of the most challenging finishing holes on the tour.
